Intuit's Vibe

For Love

by Yohannes Sharriff Smith

For love,

Two wayward souls are joined as one.

Under the watchful eye of the Most High,

Bless this union.

Pray the bond is everlasting.

For love,

Make this a truly rich marriage.

In this special place,

Unite them with the deepest affection.

Bring forth fruits of happiness.

For love,

Smooth the rough edges.

Calm storm-tossed seas.

Create a safe harbor, where they may retreat.

And, love forever brings them home.

Bit of History

Prescott S. Bush (1895-1972)

Born 15 May 1895 in Columbus, Ohio, Prescott Bush received a B.A. from Yale University, where he was a member of the secretive Skull and Bones society (1917). After completing his military service (1919), Bush married Dorothy Walker (1921); they had five children. Interested in insurance and banking, he joined Brown Brothers and Co., becoming a partner in 1930.

In 1942, Bush was managing partner of Brown Brothers Harriman when the U.S. government ordered the seizure of Nazi German banking operations in New York City. Under the Trading with the Enemy Act, the government seized the Union Banking Corporation (UBC), which was owned by Prescott Bush, E. Roland `` Bunny '' Harriman, three Nazi executives, and two other Bush associates. The government seized two Nazi front organizations run by the Bush-Harriman bank: the Holland-American Trading Corp. and the Seamless Steel Equipment Corp. Nazi interests in the Silesian-American Corp., managed by Prescott and his father-in-law George Herbert Walker, were seized under the Trading with the Enemy Act. Only Nazi interests were seized; U.S. partners remained free to carry on their business. Bush's financial operations played a key role in enabling Hitler's takeover of Germany, the development of Nazi genocide theories and the spread of racist propaganda.

Bush's Nazi business connections did not end his political career. A Connecticut Republican, he served in the U.S. Senate from 1952 - 1963 as a member of the Senate Banking and Currency, Public Works and Armed Services Committees. Bush also served on a congressional Joint Economic Committee and the Special Committee on Aging. He advocated fiscal responsibility, sponsored a price stability amendment to the Employment Act of 1946, proposed giving the president line item veto power and sponsored bills authorizing federal departments to borrow from the Treasury. His urban renewal work netted Connecticut-- a small state-- the highest per capita program in the US.

Other Bush legislative interests included flood and hurricane protection and construction of the interstate highway and defense systems. He served on the boards of Columbia Broadcasting System, the Wanadium Corp. of America, Prudential Insurance and US Golf Association. Bush died of lung cancer in 1972. Why Giuliani Sprayed NYC

by Robert Lederman

Why did Rudy Giuliani spray New York City? The answer is simple: eugenics or population reduction and control. Eugenics experiments did not end with the defeat of Nazi Germany. The U.S. government imported thousands of Nazi scientists to the U.S. and set them to work in medical research programs and think tanks, such as the Rockefeller-funded Manhattan Institute (MI), the source of most of Giuliani and Bush's ideas.

When most people hear the word eugenics they think of Jews being gassed or genocide. Eugenics programs are not about killing people on the spot. Like a time-lapse movie of plants growing, you would have to speed up the action to see what happens. Reducing a population's life span a few years or causing them to have fewer children saves the government billions of dollars. A side effect of causing illness is the creation of a huge market for products made by companies involved in eugenics. IG Farben, the chemical giant and backbone of German industry, built Auschwitz and other slave labor-death camps. Half-owned by Rockefeller's Standard Oil, after WWII, I.G. Farben split into Bayer, Hoescht and other companies. Their subsidiaries, like Monsanto, develop, manufacture and distribute nearly every drug, chemical and pesticide on today's market.

A yearly application of pesticides, such as Anvil or Malathion, in a dense urban area like New York is the perfect tool to carry out a gradual - and mostly invisible - eugenics policy. These chemicals and the more toxic petrochemicals they are mixed with before spraying are hormone and endocrine disruptors, respiratory irritants and carcinogens. The former Bush administration, which enjoyed close ties to Rockefeller interests, shipped samples of West Nile Virus and other disease organisms to Saddam Hussein. Look at what happened to U.S. Gulf War troops from a relatively brief exposure to pesticides and experimental vaccines and understand the expected result from such exposure.

Exposure to these substances reduces fertility, damages the physical and mental development of children, worsens asthma and sensitizes those exposed to immune diseases. Their routine use reduces welfare rolls and the cost of social security for baby boomers and shortens the pension payout span for corporations and governments. During three years of spraying, New Yorkers barely registered a complaint; the media downplayed its dangers. The population's gullibility and passivity in the face of an unprecedented chemical campaign was great news to eugenicists everywhere.

Even Giuliani admitted the spray is dangerous for those with asthma, a NYC epidemic. In black areas, such as Harlem, three out of five children have asthma. The Mayor bragged in 1999 that he was repeatedly sprayed with Malathion - a suspected cause of prostate cancer - yet suffered no ill effects. In late 1999, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, as were thousands of NY City men.

Disgruntled wants to know: From hordes of toads and shark attacks in Florida to pikes that outlast bomb blasts in California, examples abound of mother nature run amuck. Some scientists say these phenomena, plus raging wildfires, droughts, flash floods, runaway icebergs and earthquakes in places without faults are signs of an ecological imbalance. Could humans be reaping the bitter harvest of profoundly damaging the environment?

Disgruntled feels: Poetic justice! The rich hunting grounds that once defined the US West no longer exist. Those who insist on killing, as a rite of passage, pay dearly for the privilege on game ranches that cater to the predatory needs of the rich and famous. Hunters are real men that eat their kill; it is so macho. Ranch wildlife animals are raised like cows in feedlots where herbivores are cannibals. A US West wildlife epidemic, chronic wasting disease is mad cow. That kill you ate may be eating you, an unintended consequence or poetic justice.

Disgruntled says: America's only 'democratic' ally in the Middle East--Israel-- enjoys U.S. financial aid and advice. Using the U.S. playbook on expanding borders and expunging native people, Israel has made and broken enough treaties and agreements to postpone the creation of a Palestinian state for more than half a century. If one objectively examines American 'manifest destiny' and its ongoing exploitation, then one can see the fate of Palestinians parallels the plight of American Indians.

Garbage Fees and Tax Liens

by John Burl Smith

DeKalb County, Georgia is a haven of predatory practices; it has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the country. Homeowners in the majority black county are habitually victimized via the county tax system. Taken for granted by previous county governments, electing a black CEO and Commissioners did not change this abusive situation. To the contrary, when it comes to deriving benefits from paying taxes, blacks are included in neither the planning, nor information flows related to advise and consent. Primarily black South DeKalb rarely receives its fair share of public expenditures. It is continually passed over for economic development, such as MARTA rail service for better public transportation, arts funding, education, and other infrastructure improvements, such as curbs, sidewalks and gutters.

An example of being left out of the loop on information is found in the delinquent notices some residents began receiving last week (05/07/02). United Credit Systems, Inc. of Marietta sent delinquent notices to thousands of DeKalb property owners for fourth quarter 2001 past due sanitation bills. DeKalb County contracts out the responsibility of mailing its notices to a private company. Due to their negligence, the bills were not mailed, hence the delinquent notices, which include a penalty. Property owners were not informed.

Starting in 2002, DeKalb County changed the way it bills and collects the sanitation or garbage fee. Instead of a quarterly bill, the fee is now a line item on the annual property tax assessment. This change puts garbage collection on par with property taxes, raising the specter of property liens for unpaid sanitation fees. Foreclosure becomes a real possibility for non-payment. Most DeKalb property owners did not know the county planned to change its sanitation billing practices. When they did learn about it, the change was a fait accompli.

Coupled with excessive property taxes, reducing four opportunities a year to pay sanitation fees to a lump sum can negatively impact the elderly, less educated and low income property owners. These property owners are least able to afford attorneys to represent their interests, even if they are aware they may lose their homes due to non-payment of sanitation fees. Having enacted such a drastic measure to deal with the abuses of a few, there is little hope DeKalb citizens will receive relief from the current CEO and/or County Commissioners.

As with landfills, DeKalb citizens need as much protection from the unscrupulous schemes of county officials as they do from funk factories and predatory lenders. A process needs to be established to identify residents who received delinquent collection notices. An effort should be made to insure their rights are protected and no one loses their property as a result of this snafu. Finally, some assessment of the long-term impact of changing sanitation fees into property taxes is needed. On the surface, it is an underhanded scheme to convert unsecured debt into secured debt, which can result in the loss of real property. Like GRTA's takeover of MARTA, if our elected officials do not speak or represent our interest, we have no protection from predatory practices. John 2002

Hood Notes

Skandalakis: Predatory Politician

Former Fulton County Commission Chairman Mitch Skandalakis spearheaded the county's efforts to improve tax collections by selling delinquent tax certificates, which are liens on property for non-payment of taxes to private companies. These companies paid the delinquent taxes and forced owners to pay thousands of dollars in penalties to reclaim their property.

Since 1995, Fulton County has sold about $150 million in overdue tax certificates. Capital Asset Research Corporation (CARC) bought $87.5 million. MBIA, Inc., a giant Wall Street insurance company, owns 47% of CARC. It stopped buying tax certificates in 1998, when CARC chief operating officer John E. "Buddy" Ramsey 'left' the company and created Vesta Holdings, which has bought $60 million in certificates.

Skandalakis and Ramsey are lifelong friends; Ramsey was treasurer of his Commission chairman campaign. CARC made $3,500 in contributions to Skandalakis' failed bid for lieutenant governor and CARC paid Skandalakis $16,000 to lobby the Georgia Legislature in 1998. Ramsey authorized these payments.

Skandalakis' business dealings with Sable Communications Co. are part of a federal investigation. George Greene, Sable's founder, pleaded guilty to bribing Fulton Commissioner Michael Hightower, who has served his prison sentence. Greene paid Skandalakis $5,000 a month. Skandalakis said the payments retained his legal services. On county disclosure reports, he stated his insurance company did business with Sable. (Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 4/29/02)

DISHing It Up Hot!

On Eugenics!

by Dot

America ended forced sterilizations in 1979, but reducing "undesirables" is still widely practiced. Claims of 'spraying for mosquitoes' to fight West Nile Virus barely disguise efforts to reduce the human population. For three years, Giuliani sprayed New Yorkers with the carcinogen Malathion and claimed it was harmless. On the pretext of 'spraying for mosquitoes' "to make county residents more comfortable being outside," Clayton County, Georgia has sprayed area residents for at least seventeen (17) years. It currently uses Permanone 31/66, "the least toxic pesticide available." While the studies are incomplete, it is linked to breast cancer. Like Malathion, it negatively impacts those with poor immune systems, asthmatics, small children and the elderly.

Even in areas that do not spray, there are high rates of black incarceration. Rather than provide young blacks with positive experiences and a viable education, which includes life skills to make them productive citizens, the USA locks them up for minor offenses. As research shows, incarceration for minor offenses without rehabilitation equals recidivism. Many young blacks are doomed to lives of petty criminality because they are "undesirables." The USA has more people behind bars than most of the rest of the 'civilized' world combined.

Like 'spraying for mosquitoes,' incarceration reduces the population. Locking young blacks up in their reproductive years and feeding them drugs that reduce sperm count are effective eugenics strategies. Introducing them to homosexuality and disease while imprisoned are also effective in reducing "undesirables."

Email eedwards@asdd.com I wish you would stop using the term 'African American,' and instead use 'Black American' to identify our particular ethnic/racial group. In general, we do not reap the benefits, such as loans to start businesses and entry into certain schools, that "Africans" who come to this country get, whether "Black" or "white. Whites do call themselves "Irish Americans" or "Italian Americans. They are Americans.

Email www.accessatlanta.com Georgia's state legislature passed a bill to protect poor and elderly homeowners from unscrupulous lenders. The new law prohibits finance companies from piling high fees and balloon payments on unsophisticated homeowners with already high-interest loans.

Email www.jewishxpress.com Chase National Bank, the precursor of JPMorgan-Chase, helped the Nazis plunder Jewish property during WWII. The New York-based bank controlled by the Rockefeller family closed Jewish accounts before Germans ordered them to do so and did business with the Nazis while they were sending Jews to gas chambers. While the U.S. fought the Nazis, Chase helped German banks do business with their overseas branches. Many US businesses closed their Paris operations after France fell to the Nazis; Chase stayed open. The Chase/Nazis relationship was so cozy Carlos Niedermann, the Chase Paris branch chief, wrote his supervisor in Manhattan that the bank enjoyed "very special esteem" with top German officials and "a rapid expansion of deposits." His letter was written in May 1942, five months after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and the U.S. entered the war. (Daily News 12/7/98)

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon opposed the move, which is likely to anger Arab nations. Palestinian spokesman Saeb Erekat said, "It unmasked many things. It just shows that the war being waged by Israel against the Palestinians is not a war against what they call terror; it's really their war to maintain the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza."

He has just been dropped from the Bush payroll according to the Washington Times. MI also coined the slogan "Compassionate conservatism" for GW, who publicly claims the Rockefeller-funded organization's influence on his thinking is "second only to the Holy Bible."

Email www.apnews.com In Lowndes County, Alabama, health officials are cracking down on homes without septic tanks. The courts have notified thirty-seven families that they must install waste-removal systems or face jail. So far, more than a dozen people have been arrested and fined. At least 1,200 more lack septic tanks, and about 1,500 other families have tanks needing repairs. Many residents in this impoverished county simply cannot afford the expensive systems. Between a lack of funds, arrests and fines, the bottom line is some people could lose their property.
