Run Children Run: There is no greater force in the universe than an idea. What goes on in your mind can change the world if you believe it will. T.H.I.N.C. is just such a force. Its aim is to liberate the mind and spirit, not circumscribe its freedom. Adolf Hitler nourished the obsession that civilization began in Europe. The horror that came to life in Germany during the 1930s flowered, because most whites wanted to believe this racist view, which is to say, the first man - original man from whence all others germinated- developed in Europe. It follows that Europe is the seat of original knowledge, and the white male is its depository. Ipso facto, they are the most intelligent, the norm against which all other humans are judged. Behold the Aryan master race! Adolf Hitler's Nazi norm, which justified incinerating six million Jews, is based on eugenics.

Eugenics popularized Intelligence tests. Intelligence test measure what people have been exposed to and can recall following prompts called questions. Consequently, intelligence is a test score and nothing more. This score is said to predict deferential characteristics and capabilities individuals possibly possess. Hitler's eugenics tied the presence or absence of particular physical characteristics to mental abilities and assigned a value above and below which individuals were judged as socially undesirable based on scores on intelligence tests (The SAT).

The racist nature of intelligence tests assumes Neanderthals were the first humans, hence all human characteristics and mental abilities possessed by them came through Neanderthal genes. Academicians agree the fossil record shows original man was Homo sapiens and humanity's origin is Africa. They also agree, unlike Neanderthals, Homo sapiens were thinkers and it was their migration from Africa into Europe that brought Neanderthals out of caves not the other way around. Moreover, it is clear, Neanderthals demonstrated few, if any characteristic and reasoning capabilities Homo sapiens demonstrated before their migration began. Interbreeding slowly transformed Hitler's master race of Neanderthals into human beings. Unequivocally, Neanderthals were far less intelligent than their Homo sapiens counterpart.

There are Germans today, who still insist Adolf Hitler never burned one Jew and like Sen. Strom Thurmond of South Carolina, they will carry their racism to their graves, rather than admit to their grandchildren, they were wrong. The Supreme Court and President-select George W. Bush, Jr. have done in America what Hitler did in Germany in 1933. His family believes in and supports eugenics. As Hitler, Bush's policies pit social and racial groups against one another. His tax cut pits the rich against poor. Under the guise of "faith based," Bush is driving a money wedge through the American church while rewarding campaign supporters. A new millennium flashback to Hitler's military threats while robbing and murdering Jews as he burned up the evidence, Bush is using tax cuts, faith based, economic downturn, a nuclear shield and school reform to hid re-segregating blacks in America. On St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2001, Serena Williams met the Belgium teenager Kim Clijsters in the finals of the Newsweek Masters Tournament Series in Indian Wells, California. Steeped in drama fueled by rumors, the nineteen year old African American (black) tennis player was booed from the moment she stepped onto center court to warm up until the match ended with her victory over Clijsters in three sets.

According to court-side buzz, spectators jeered because Serena's older sister - Venus - decided to bow out of their semi-final match up, due to tendinitis in her right knee minutes, before the scheduled televised match. Word from the hood is, a black player who struggles to make it to this competitive level cannot get sick when white people want a performance.

A competitive sport, tennis requires tremendous concentration. Fans who appreciate this understand how difficult it is to focus on that little ball to keep it in play and score points. Beyond physical, fans and players know, a person's tennis game can be greatly affected by psychological factors. Physical conditioning, poor weather conditions, booing, hissing, whistling and chapping and cheering when a player makes an unforced error, such as a double fault, can make for a disaster. Those who love the sport and understand its dynamics, especially competitive tennis, are simply appalled by the behavior of the audience on Saturday. We say blah! Blah! Blah to such discourteous behavior, which clearly showed tennis fans as ugly Americans. Such lowlife actions have no place at courtside and should be relegated to WWF and cockfights, where sportsmanship is not a consideration.

Disgruntled says: No one outside the continental United States believes George W. Bush, Jr. won the presidency. Since Bush declared himself a white supremacist in his strict construction message during the campaign, foreigners understand white American complicity and silence, but they do not understand black acquiescence. Just as the 1895 Atlanta Compromise of Booker T. Washington advised blacks to accept Jim Crow segregation, the Y2K Uncle Tom psychology, as personified by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, preaches acceptance of Bush's theft of the presidency and advocates silence of the masses.

Disgruntled feels: If one assumes human intelligence is pre-determined at birth, then the human cannot be a work in progress (AWIP). This limiting view of human potential is antithetical to reality, wherein people evolve. THINC about it!

Disgruntled wants to know: Pork barrel spending reached new heights when Georgia Governor Roy Barnes gave powerful state legislators unfettered access to the state budget to back the swastika compromise to change the state flag. A good example of the pork is a $30,000 gift to Rep. Larry Walker's district to study a statue to be dedicated to the mule farmer. What other promises were made with tax dollars to secure the infamous compromise, which keeps the Confederate swastika in Georgia's flag and enshrines Confederate heritage symbols, such as the Confederate battle flag?

Kudos!!

Kudos Serena Williams for a display of inner strength and the iron will of a true champion. Despite the worst display of a tennis audience in the history of the game, she performed like the champion she is, then she blew the ugly Americans booing her a kiss. In three sets, Williams won the Newsweek Masters Series Tennis Tournament under extreme pressure, personifying mental toughness. You have to give the nineteen-year old credit for her maturity, clear-headed and staunch resolve in the eye of a storm; she steadied herself, ignored rude fans and focused on her game. Undaunted by the ugly jeers and boos, this champion of tennis made history. Kudos!

In addition to defeating her opponent on the court, Serena beat the ugly Americans in the stands on Saturday at Indian Wells. For an historic bloodless victory over the bullies, kudos Serena! Contrary to WWF fan reaction, the tennis crowd is expected to exemplify courteous behavior, a degree of civility generally missing in underclass spectator sports. Tennis and golf fans are the creme de la creme of society. On Saturday, they sunk below the level of WWF fan-fanatics. Like agitators drunk on beer and hotdogs, they cheered when Serena double-faulted and booed when she scored a point.

In the tradition of Jackie Robinson and Jesse Owens, Serena Williams proved herself a real champion. Despite a barrage of boos, she won the tournament. Kudos Serena on a stunning display of mental toughness!

Pineapple-grape favor plays my taste buds.

On my tongue like Now or Later, tropical flavored ice cold cup of Koolaid spilled on the table at the Saturday barbecue.

It was all day at the swimming pool, barefoot races, riding through the park on the back of my dad's ten-speed, throwing a football or Frisbee, flying kites, blowing bubbles, jumping dirt bikes, wrestling, playing jacks, marbles, Double-Dutch, hide and go seek.

Hand games like "Down by the river hanky panky bull frog jump from bank to bank.

Say north, south, east, west chill willy ding-dong." Never will forget Rockin' Robin and I don't wanna go to Mexico no more... no more...

Mosquitoes while we eat fresh watermelon on the porch.

Visiting my grandma after school with a good report or laying in the shade of an old oak tree to escape the heat of summertime in Memphis.

Some of yours and some of mine make a meal or at least a great party.

With hardly any money, my cousins and me would walk the hood over the fence and through the woods in search of the ice cream man...the corner sundry and that famed ghetto place where sweet old ladies magically made poverty fade like Oracle's cookies. A freeze cup made you feel right as rain.

Ky, Tone, Jean, Tonya, Lil' Larry, Courtney, Meek, Ani, Quitta, and me hiding on of the floor of the van, as John and Dot sneaked us in the drive-in.

The smell of herb mixed with homemade birthday cake, conversation, spades and Marvin Gaye.

P-Funk tore the roof off the mother when Dot made braided art from Afros.

Somebody is popping firecrackers and racing bottle rockets down the block.

A twilight horizon framed the silhouette of the refinery as it poured smoke.

Streetlights were aglow.

The party flowed through the house, out the door and into the back yard.

Beneath the stars doing back flips and cartwheels, on the big hill we danced with sparklers in hand as the thick humidity bathed our sun-baked skin in sweat.

Our youth glowed like the sparklers that illuminated our glistening faces.

I still wet the bed and was afraid of the dark.

Santa Claus, Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy were real.

And, we couldn't wait to grow up, but would never grow old.

For two weeks, Marie tried to send The DISH an email message about a breaking news story aired in Europe. Each time, the message came as a blank. Eventually, she telephoned about SILENCE OF THE LAMBS: THE FAILURE OF U.S. JOURNALISM by Greg Palast. The DISH has long contended that American media are one-mind controlled and Palast's latest work supports that notion. His SILENCE blows the whistle on American media's complicity in covering up just how George W. Bush, Jr. stole the election.

According to Palast: "Here's how the president of the United States was elected. In the months leading up to the November balloting, Florida Governor Jeb Bush and his Secretary of State, Katherine Harris, ordered local elections supervisors to purge 64,000 voters from voter lists on the grounds that they were felons who were not entitled to vote in Florida. As it turns out, these voters weren't felons, or at least, only a very few were. However, the voters on this "scrub list" were, notably, African-American (about 54 percent), while most of the others wrongly barred from voting were white and Hispanic Democrats."

Palast lambasts American media for their failure to cover this extraordinary story of American voter disenfranchisement. Palast spells it out in black and white, so there is no question that because blacks were disenfranchised wholesale in Florida, Vice President Al Gore actually won the election. Moreover, his news coverage confirms, this second Bush presidency is a fraudulent one.

Plagued with problems, which include a lack of funding, ongoing efforts to kick The DISH and anything associated with it off the Internet, etc., BATT-PAC survives on the power of one. This week, I am sending Congressman John Lewis another letter seeking his support for meaningful election reforms, which include repeal of Article 1 Section 2 and an end to the Electoral College. BATT-PAC is urging all those in positions of leadership to speak to the problem of calling America a democracy and the existence of the first law when we strictly interpret the U.S. Constitution and embrace a solution that objectively addresses it. Your efforts in getting them up to snuff are greatly appreciated. I know many of you, as forces of one, are working to achieve an AAERA to secure for our people what has been denied us traditionally, legally, i.e. equality.

Published in 1994, The Bell Curve, written by Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray, justifies white supremacy using statistical analysis. To fully comprehend how the authors' scientific analysis, based on erroneous assumptions, has been used to influence contemporary social policy, see http://www.indiana.edu/~intell/hottopics.html. The university website documents the errors and exposes what one critic calls the 'scholarly brinkmanship' it took to arrive at the flawed social policies espoused by the far right proponents of the Contract with America.

The Bell Curve espouses a divisive social view, a we against them scenario, where the cognitive elite (the we-white male) must rule the social order. This cognitive elite, based on IQ test scores, is destined by virtue of their superior genes to inherit the best society has to offer, while the rest of society, the low IQ masses, is destined to be the miserable poor. Accordingly, nothing can really be done, in terms of social programming to change their miserable existence. Hence, we should end attempts at social programming to change their miserable lot and instead invest those tax dollars in programs that benefit the cognitive elite, who are seen as the most proficient of humans.

Examination of this 'scientific' theory shows the mentality at work that accepted the Three-fifths or Great Compromise, which gave the United States its first law and the Electoral College. Closer to home, one really understands the thinking that led a metro Atlanta principal of a predominantly white school to call the approximately 132 black male students of the school to a room to basically tell them they are dumb and the reason the school's test scores were falling. It also explains the push by President-selected Bush and Georgia Governor Roy Barnes' desire to use more intelligence testing, which lie at the base of social policies to 'end social promotion' and 'accountability.'

The Florida Supreme Court ruling in Jane Doe v. America Online, Inc. lends hope the Internet will temporarily remain a vehicle for free speech. The court upheld lower court rulings that "Internet service providers are not responsible for material created by their customers." Furthermore, it makes my objection to AT&T's move to block the content of our website and end our Internet service subscription highly suspect. This is a case of suppression of free speech. AT&T has not explained its actions in ending our subscription and blocking the content of our website, but we understand the dynamics at work to keep us silent.

The DISH is an educational vehicle. It is the only e-zine and website that provides an unbleached examination of issues in the dialogue on race. Those who used the website were not required to register nor were they plagued by advertisements and other gimmicks. It provided a unique take on current news and information you can use. No fees were charged for the visits and no Internet cookies had to be accepted to access any of the site's information. What it lacked in flash, it more than made up for it in content. AT&T, nor any ISP, should be allowed to censor free speech. Clearly, this is why The DISH's content at yicim@worldnet.att.net remains blocked with no explanation given. It also explains why http://yicim.com is also blocked.
