Red Clay
by Yohannes Sharriff Smith
Blue drops Red Clay off at the hotel.
She kisses me sweet peace as we part.
Blue thinks, "Yes! There is something
Strangely erotic about this particular Black woman."
Dressed in black stack boots,
Long black skirt, white tuxedo shirt
And red bow tie that slightly matches
Her sandy red Afro puff. She buffs shoes
Until customers can see their reflection.
Blue incognito lover inhales a waking dream,
Silently…sensuously...secretly... waiting...wanting
Watching her shine in the Marriott's lobby.
With ease, Red Shoeshine Lady
Reads silence like a psychic.
Red Clay haunted me for two years.
Blue whispers smoke in her ear,
"I need to hurry up and reap financial success
So you can stop soiling your hands. "
Putting a final twist on the joint,
Red Shoeshine Lady says, "I like my job."
Perfectionist...
Red Clay possesses the emotional depth of an artist. She makes love with the same intensity.
Whatever Red Clay produces
Illustrates acute attention to detail.
Senior English major,
Wonder woman edits the life of Blue.
There is something strangely erotic about this woman.
Red-Light Sleeper dances purple before Blue's eyes.
With effortless grace,
Red Clay bathes in light and shadow
Willfully enticing my dynamic palette
To paint-brush mischievous strokes
Of strangely exotic beauty across
Her elegantly sculpted neck.
Red Clay's slightly sullen winter slouch
Summons the Blue sun to change the season to spring
So strong slender limbs reach their full potential.
Her pliable flesh molds to Blue music...
Red Clay aches for the rush of Blue inspiration.
Red-Light Sleeper siestas beneath my radiant gaze.
She claims, "I'm awake, I was just day dreaming."
She has a way of phrasing things.
Her poetry is my not so secret obsession.
It's the way Spider-like fingers express a ravenous lust,
Ripping into a defenseless package of ketch up,
Greedily dipping every bite of each golden brown fry into the red sauce like gravy.
I jealously snicker... She says, "Well, It's not right without Red on each bite."
Red Clay turns me on like fruit or pheromones.
Blue baritone utterances change octaves
As she orchestrates my color.
She asks, "Blue, how does it feel?"
I am...Speechless...She asks, "Blue, is it purple?
'Cause purple is perfection." And I am speechless...
Except for involuntary whimpers
As I struggle to catch my breath.
Even now, I toil to wrap my mind around
the enigmatic texture of this exquisite feeling.
I retain my semen to maintain potency
Cogently, I push the point past ejaculation.
You see, I lovingly massage the exhausted feet
Of an angel wrapped in the (I'm) perfect skin of the Red Shoeshine Lady.
She asks, "Why?"
I simply say, "Blue loves his mother."
Slavery: An Economic Philosophy
by John Burl Smith
Thinking color does not explain the difference in blacks and whites status ignores history. Based on color, Africans were kidnapped, brought to America in chains, stripped of their identify, legally defined as property and valued as 3/5ths of whites. This construct that exploits color differences is the "free enterprise system." Whites discovered blacks and said, "blacks are free, lets make an enterprise out of them."
Slavery was the dominant economic system in the world, until ending in the 1830s. Bringing his slave model to America in 1712, Willie Lynch taught whites how to maintain slavery within a democratic format. Using the black woman as the linchpin, he created a delivery system of perpetual slavery. Let's Make A Slave, Lynch's economic philosophy is based on "learned helplessness," a psychological principle that teaches animals to behave against their natural instincts. In the lab, shocks are administered until an animal becomes convinced it can no longer trust its instincts to stop the pain; it is reduced to trembling helplessly in fear. Its first unnatural action terminates the pain. Repeatedly, the animal terminates the pain by acting against its natural instincts. Short-circuiting its General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS), the animal comes to trust its helplessness illusion of control.
Willie Lynch utilized such an aversive technique to reverse the natural trusting tendency of black women toward black men. This system requires abusive personalities as managers. Punishment and abuse function like drugs in this addiction model. The same mindsets that implemented Lynch's philosophy, seventy-seven years later ascribed equality to all men in the Declaration of Independence. Thirteen years after that, these same men adopted the 3/5ths Compromise as the law of the land. Americans faithfully practiced Lynching and fought a bloody Civil War to maintain it. Still unwilling to give up Lynching, they teach their sons its principles today. Presidents, Senators, CEO's, teachers, preachers, doctors, lawyers, managers, police, ad infinitum, practice the southern plantation management style. Exemplifying John Rocker, they make decisions daily supporting the 3/5ths Compromise. America has not changed because the law has not changed for the black man; the Confederate flag still flies over this hypocritical land. Black women have the GAS to power black men, Willie Lynch put the key in their hands!
by John Burl Smith
In Willie Lynch's model, black women are the delivery system of slavery. Destroying her trust in the black man is Lynch's goal. He begins by testing her willingness to submit to enslavement. "If the nigger woman shows any sign of resistance, do not hesitate to use the bull whip on her to extract that last bit of bitch out of her. After that, she will train her offspring in the early years to submit readily to labor. In her natural uncivilized state she has a strong dependency on the uncivilized nigger male and a limited protectiveness toward her independent male offspring and will raise her female offspring to be dependent like her. Nature has provided for this type of balance; I have devised a way to reverse nature by showing her no nigger man can protect her. Convinced of this, alone and unprotected, she will move from her natural dependent state to an unnatural independent state."
Lynch 's philosophy defines blacks as uncivilized. Defining blacks as uncivilized, whites can determine what is required to be civilized. Lynch's key is reducing black men to impotency, while terrorizing and training the remaining slaves through lynching. "When breaking an uncivilized nigger male, take the meanest and most restless nigger, strip him bear in front of the remaining niggers, females and infant. Tar and feather him, tie each leg to a different horse faced in opposite directions, set him a fire and beat both horses to pull him apart. Next, take another nigger male bull whip him to the point of death. Don't kill him. Put the fear of God in him, he can be used for future breeding."
Creating a confused and unnatural state of helplessness in black women, Lynch placed white men between her and the black man. "Killing the protective male image and creating a submissive dependent minded nigger male slave, the civilized nigger woman is out front and the civilized nigger man behind and scared. She will raise her male and female offspring in reversed roles. Fearing for her young male offspring's life, she will train him to be mentally weak and dependent but physically strong. She will train her female offspring to be psychologically independent (civilized). Unless a phenomenon occurs and reestablishes the natural position of the nigger male and female," the black woman will remain the delivery system for slavery. On a Woman's Worth!
by Dot
In the grand scheme of things, men think women are worth less than men. The notion that a female's contribution to national wealth is less than a male's pre-dates modern civilization. Like racism, sexism is part of the American psyche, which influences the nation's market for goods and services. Hence, like blacks, women are paid less than men for identical labor.
Male/female compensation inequalities are found throughout America. An excellent example is found in professional tennis. Women players are demanding equal compensation. Dominated by white men, the tennis industry is resisting, and the media is assisting. Sparse coverage in the local newspaper and televised sports attest to a media blackout assertion.
Blackouts are a typical part of the tradition of punishing women when they speak out; it helps beat them back into submission. Blackouts aid in the psychological conditioning designed to instill a sense of helplessness in being able to change their situation, even though women go through the same meat grinder as men to be successful, whether in tennis or any other endeavor.
Rosa Park's refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery bus and rescued us from the custom of paying full fare and sitting in the back of the bus. Sick and tired of unequal treatment and tired aching feet made Rosa refuse to relinquish her seat. Ironically, blacks in the back of the bus criticized Rosa for "making a fuss." Yet, Rosa's decision to remain seated put equal access in the black vocabulary. Without her, we may still be riding in the back and justifying the practice, like the Ward Connerlys among us who oppose affirmative action.
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) tax and service disparities are unequal access situations. Unequal taxation, only DeKalb and Fulton Counties' taxpayers pay MARTA's sales tax, yet planned expansion benefits areas where the tax is not imposed. Adding insult, MARTA proposes a fare increase and plans to extend the tax on DeKalb/Fulton to year 2047. Taxation without representation screams tax revolt!
Clearly, DeKalb/Fulton taxpayers are overburdened. There is no difference between riding in the back of the bus at full fare and paying more to sit anywhere. DeKalb/Fulton residents should not have to pay more for MARTA! Moreover, our elected officials should not be silent and or otherwise aid in our exploitation. Unlike Rosa, their inaction keeps us in a second class status on the back of the bus, while accommodating those who opposed MARTA's creation. Silence and inaction from our legislators is taxation without representation. This kind of public service is the antithesis of Rosa's legacy. Rather than recognize when we are being marginalized and work to end the practice, they assist in continuing the tradition. It is time we cleaned house of useless officials whose leadership keeps us in the back of the bus. Remember in November those who put our best interests on the back burner!
Black Men Who Love Our Sisters
by Mboya Ward
An e-mail ("Disgusted White Woman") circulated through cyberspace at a meteoric pace. Normally, I do not respond to garbage; we know dehumanizing black women is part of America's culture. The fact that an anonymous person disrespected her in an e-mail is not surprising. Unsettling though is the number of brothers embracing its racist and stereotypical depictions, instead of being outraged, because it insulted every Black mother on the planet.
Black men who view white women as a better alternative to their stereotypical and delusional version of a Black woman are suffering from a pathological state of deep-seated self-hate, and frankly, they do not deserve to be in your presence anyway!
On behalf of the vast multitudes of Black men everywhere whose spirits demand your remarkable essence, we know you are the most awesome women on earth and that God made you in His heavenly image-- Black, beautiful and strong... We know we cannot survive without you and your steadfast love and support. We are committed to protecting you against those who hate you and seek to degrade your humanity. We are here to build you up, not bring you down... We know that it is because of you and your blood, sweat and tears that we are here today...And more than anything else, we realize together we will continue to build beautiful black families, communities and nations.

Poster Boys for Poor Representation
The last thing DeKalb needs is Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell's dis-ease infecting our county's politics. Like Atlanta, whites control majority black DeKalb. Though Campbell is 'black, he is an Oreo in office. Blacks elected him twice, with the same result. Once in office, he served "all the people," a euphemism for caving in to Atlanta's white power structure's every demand.
Campbell's endorsement of Porter Sanford is alarming. Campbell's legacy as Atlanta's chief executive makes his endorsement scary. His legacy must be measured on the basis of how Atlanta treats its least citizens. Across America, the most disadvantaged group, after native Americans, is young blacks. Atlanta's treatment of them is shameful. Under Campbell, the city kept them second class. His Freaknik tactic is classic black suppression. During the black college spring break event, Campbell is the black father figure in "Freedom Song." Played by Danny Glover, the father beats his son to please a white man. Campbell beats our children for the same reason to appease a white Buckhead Coalition.
A realtor and DeKalb County Commissioner, Porter Sanford is running for DeKalb CEO. His personal philosophy is, "let the buyer beware." Sanford believes he bears no personal responsibility to provide any information to his customers or voters. He prefers both ignorant, then he can sell them poorly constructed and overpriced homes near unlined Seminole Landfill. Keeping people ignorant, he teamed with Commissioner Bill Brown, and they tried to sell us on contaminated Ward Lake real estate for recreational purposes. When the deal collapsed, South DeKalb lost its park. These scoundrels blamed the people for not wanting to play in an area detrimental to their health.
South DeKalb deserves better. Porter's record is dismal; he is missing in action too often when it matters to the health and well-being of South DeKalb. Poster boys for poor representation, come November, we must remember Campbell's Freaknik and Porter's "Let the buyer beware" admonition. It is time we encouraged our intelligent young people to seek office to replace scoundrels who do not serve our best interests. All our children will lose is their inexperience, and we may gain honest representation. Don't delay! Get involved today! Filing deadlines are fast approaching. Run children run!
Classic: Plantation Style of Management
Imagine you worked on a job managed by a John Rocker with co-workers that are so inured of the system they support racism, then you see the employment experience of most blacks. Ron Matten has first-hand experience of a hostile workplace. Ron works in Michigan's Department of Corrections. With 15-years of tenure, he serves as a Union Representative at his current job location.
A template, Ron's experience parallels those of numerous blacks who have had up-close encounters with the "glass ceiling, " know first hand about the last hired and the first fired and understand the frustration of training others for opportunities they are never offered.
In Ron's case, he sought to make a difference in employee-management relations. He became awake to his naivety under a barrage of unfair management practices. He filed complaints with the internal-EEOC, external-State Police and various other sources, in an effort to end the harassment. The workplace just got more hostile. Ironically, black managers participate in the harassment.
Ron feels threatened and needs help in dealing with his situation. He has asked The DISH for assistance. We have advised a good lawyer! Now, we ask your help. Words of encouragement and advice should be directed to Ronald Matten at RMatten1@aol.com. Let Ron know what you did when it happened to you. We know similar incidents happen to us on a daily. We must learn to recognize the discrimination and share the information needed to end it.
Since America's economic system reflects his notions of control and exploitation, in what college course do they teach Willie Lynch's economic theory?
Disgruntled says: Changing GRTA's funding formula will allow the state of Georgia to practice blatant taxation discrimination against the city of Atlanta. Those representing the city said nothing, because they are either asleep at the wheel or ignorant. We cannot afford to keep electing representatives who practice silence and/or pleads ignorance on issues affecting our socioeconomic and political well-being.
